The Argentina Women’s Cricket Team on Saturday created history with a huge win over Chile. The T20 game was played in Buenos Aires during Chile’s short tour of Argentina. The match will go down in the annals of cricket as a huge mismatch.

Chile was outplayed by the home team to lose the game by 364 runs which is a huge margin in T20 Cricket. Both the Argentina openers scored centuries as they scored a huge total which set a new world record.

Chile’s Captain Camila Valdes won the toss and chose to bowl first. This decision came to backfire on the visiting side big time. The last time T20 cricket saw records tumbling was when Nepal took on Mongolia during the 2022 Asian Games.

Argentina claim huge win to break T20 records –

Put into bat first, Argentina started with Lucia Taylor and Albertina Galan. The opening took the Chile bowlers to the cleaners adding a record 350 runs for the first wicket. The only wicket to fall for Argentina was Lucia Taylor who scored 169.

Lucia Taylor’s 169 runs came at 84 runs with 27 fours and a strike rate of 201. Curiously none of the Argentine batters hit a six during their entire innings. Taylor’s opening partner Galan scored 145 runs off 84 balls with 23 fours in her knock.

Batter number 3 Maria scored 40 not out off 16 balls with 7 hits to the fence. Argentina ended with 427/1 from their 20 overs. This was the highest team total in the history of T20I Cricket for any team.

Chasing an unlikely 428 to win, Chile were all out for 63 runs in the 15th over. Jessica Miranda was the sole batter to put up some decent runs on the board with 27 runs. The dominance from Argentina was such that only Miranda was the batter to reach double digits in Chile’s innings.

Nepal had beaten Mongolia by a huge margin during the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Kushal Malla had scored the fastest T20 century and Dipendra Singh had scored the fastest T20 fifty in just 9 balls. This match will not be forgotten by the Chile team for a long time to come.
