The list of players who have registered their names for the auction of the IPL 2024 has come out. A total of 1166 players wish to go under the hammer, which is insane. Out of them, only 590 players are likely to go under the hammer. Not all of them are likely to get picked. Some of them might not even be called by the auctioneer, if the franchises do not show interest in them toward the end.

Since it is a mini-auction, there are only a limited number of spots up for grabs. Out of the 1166 players that have registered for the tournament, 830 of them are from India. 336 overseas players have made themselves available to be picked by the franchises. A total of 909 uncapped players wish to be picked by the owners of the biggest cricket league.

A total of 212 players are capped at the highest level. 45 players from the list belong to the associate teams. There are not many high-quality players from India that are available in the auctions. The capped players like Harshal Patel, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Kedar Jadhav, Vijay Shankar, and Manish Pandey might be sought after. The auction of the season will take place in Dubai on the 19th of December.

Performers from ODI World Cup 2023 likely to be in demand

Some of the players who performed exceptionally well in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023 are likely to be in demand. The players who performed well in the tournament, particularly in the Knockout stage of the tournament, are most likely to get picked. These players belong to teams like Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.

The list of players who can potentially go under the hammer includes the likes of Travis Head, Josh Hazlewood, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Gerald Coetzee and others who performed well in the ODI World Cup 2023. There are some local talents and good players from the associate teams, who might also bag huge deals in the auctions.
