The first game of the Caribbean Premier League 2023 saw Jamaica Tallawahs take on the Saint Lucia Kings. After being given the opportunity to bat, the Jamaica Tallawahs were able to amass a substantial total. They would feel a little let down by the result because 200 appeared imminent. The Tallawahs' captain, Brandon King, took the initiative and stood out among the other hitters as they batted around him. The Tallawahs seemed on track to reach 200 at one point when he as well as Allen were pounding the ball about, but they lost the game towards the finish and were potentially 10-15 runs short.

He added significant partnerships alongside McKenzie as well as Reifer to set up the innings. With the exception of Alzarri, St. Lucia Kings were careless on the pitch and clumsy with the ball, nevertheless, they remain with a strong chance of winning the game. 187 can be a tricky score for both teams in this batting paradise with shorter boundaries. Saint Lucia Kings have great batting depth and would want them to fire at all cylinders.

Saint Lucia Kings fell short by 11 runs in CPL opener against Jamaica Tallawahs

Faf and his struggles with the bat continued in the Caribbean Premier League as he was removed before Chase came to bat, and St. Lucia Kings were unable to get any momentum after that. When Charles and Williams reached their twenties, they made no attempt to launch a counter-attack on the opposition. Only Chase was able to give the inning some momentum but was running out of partners at the non-striker's end.

Primus entered after half the side was back in the pavilion and immediately began to bash the ball around, however, the asking rate had already been too high. The two of them did add another 60-plus partnership, but ultimately they fell 11 runs short. Imad and Green, two outstanding spinners who put the stress on the batsmen while also taking five wickets between them, were the real positives in terms of bowling for Jamaica Tallawahs.
