Commonwealth Games 2022: PV Sindhu isolated for some time upon arrival in Birmingham

According to the rules set for the Commonwealth Games 2022, players will have to undergo an RT-PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival. They will once again undergo an RT-PCR test on arrival. Times of India reported that the Olympic star PV Sindhu was put into isolation for some time. Upon arrival, Sindhu’s RT-PCR test showed some deviations.

And the star was isolated from other contingents for some time. India’s chef-de-mission authorities were in touch with the organization throughout. Sindhu’s test upon arrival put her in isolation until the test came out negative. Sindhu was allowed to check in at the games village as her test came out negative. The star is all set to take on the big stage now.

PV Sindhu has been fantastic throughout her career. The young star has piled up medals for her country and is aiming to get one at the Commonwealth Games 2022. With all tests clear, Sindhu’s focus will now be on the medal. Times of India also reported that the Olympic association of India delayed the announcement of the flag bearer because of this issue.

Commonwealth Games 2022 will be played in Birmingham. The multi-sport event will get off to a grand beginning today and will go on until August 8. 200+ Indian contingents are taking part in the event. Neeraj Chopra backed out of the event owing to an injury. Boxing, Women’s cricket, Triathlon, Athletics, Cycling and 15 more sports will be an integral part of the event.

Women’s cricket will be a part of this mega event for the very first time. Athletics is a sport where India can pile up its medal tally. Birmingham is all set to host the event and the Games Village is more colourful than ever. The Indian contingent has arrived for the event and the players are all set.
