Indian women’s cricket kicked off their Commonwealth Games against Australia. The latter won the match in a nail-biting thriller. India faced arch-rivals Pakistan in the second match of the Commonwealth Games 2022, and the Indian brigade won the match quite easily.

Indian women’s team won the match by 8 wickets in just 11.4 overs. The team made the win look very easy and gave themselves a chance to bag a medal for India. However, there was one more reason for the fans to celebrate the victory.

After the match, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur gifted a bat to her Pakistani counterpart. The Pakistan women batter was extremely happy on receiving the bat. This incident won the hearts and the photos went viral immediately. The fans rejoiced the moment.

Several Pakistani fans also appreciated the Indian skipper’s gesture. Players from the Pakistan team lauded the gesture and said that they felt loved after that. The heart-warming moment was appreciated by several others too.

The match was reduced to 18 overs due to rain interruption. Pakistan Women were bundled out for 99 in 18 overs in the rain-affected match. Muneeba Ali top scored for Pakistan with 32 runs. No other batter crossed the 20-run mark in the Pakistani squad.

Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav picked two scalps each. The duo gave a nightmare to the Pakistani batters. India looked confident while chasing the target. Smriti Mandhana was on fire and started smashing boundaries right from the start. Smriti Mandhana smashed an unbeaten 63 off 42 balls, including three sixes and eight fours. Shafali Verma managed to back Smriti Mandhana in the first wicket partnership.

India won the match by 8 wickets and now will face Barbados on Wednesday. A win there might give India a real chance of bagging the medal. India’s loss against Australia put the former on a back foot. Indian women’s cricket team did a lot of hard work to make a comeback against Pakistan women’s cricket team. The hard work was clearly visible in the match where only 29 overs were bowled.
