Heavy downpour in Kerala leaves Indian fans sad

Thiruvananthapuram is the venue where India is set to play its 2nd Warm-Up game. The match though has come under severe doubt due to heavy rains since Tuesday morning. As per reports carried out by Revsportz, there have been constant downpours across the entire southern state.

India’s first warm-up game against England was canceled after Guwahati witnessed stormy weather. Rohit Sharma and Jos Buttler had come out for toss in sunny conditions and India had chosen to bat first.

That was the only piece of action the fans got to witness that day as rains followed and the covers were called. The match sadly did not happen to leave both the teams and its fans disappointed.

Virat Kohli had not joined the team on Sunday when they landed in Kerala. The 34-year-old had to fly back to Mumbai to be with his family. The former Indian skipper has not yet joined the Indian team. It is likely he could join up with the squad before the game begins if the rains stay clear.

There were two warm-up games that took place on Monday ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup. New Zealand beat South Africa by 7 runs in a rain-affected encounter in Thiruvananthapuram. In the other game, England beat Bangladesh by 4 wickets in Guwahati which also saw a downpour during the game.
