Lucknow Super Giants are back to their winning after losing the previous match to CSK at Chepauk, by registering their second win of the Indian Premier League 2023 at their home ground defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets. SRH posted 121 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs, while LSG chased the winning total in just 16 overs losing 5 wickets
SRH won the toss and elected to bat first at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The visitors first lost the wicket of Mayank Agarwal after he tried to take on Krunal Pandya on the last ball of the third over but ended up giving a catch to Marcus Stoinis at covers. After that, Anmolpreet Singh tried to take the innings further by scoring 31 off 26 with three fours and a maximum. Anmolpreet got out in the last ball of the eighth over as Pandya got his second wicket. On the very next delivery, Pandya struck again and bowled out the SRH skipper Aiden Markram for a golden duck. An over later, Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Harry Brook to give LSG a fourth breakthrough.
After that, Rahul Tripathi took the innings further by playing a steady knock of 34 runs from 41 balls hitting four boundaries. Tripathi added 39 runs with Washington Sundar for the fifth wicket before getting out to Yash Thakur by giving a catch to Amit Mishra. Sundar was also struggling with timing and got out after scoring just 16 runs off 28 balls. After that, Abdul Samad took the charge and remained unbeaten on 21 runs off 10 balls, hitting one four and two sixes as SRH crossed the 120-run mark.
Krunal Pandya was the main anchor of LSG bowling as he scalped 3 wickets by conceding 18 runs in his four overs. Amit Mishara took 2 wickets, while Yash Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi took one each.

Chasing a low total, LSG first lost Kyle Mayers at the score of 35 runs in 4.3 overs. In the next over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Deepak Hooda by taking a catch on his own delivery. After that, skipper KL Rahul and Pandya put up a partnership of 55 runs for the third wicket. Pandya got out after scoring 34 runs off 23 balls, hitting four fours and a maximum. While Rahul got out after scoring 35 off 31 with four boundaries.
After that, Nicolas Pooran finished the match with a six as LSG scored 127 runs the loss of 5 wickets and won the match with four overs left to be bowled. For SRH, Adil Rashid scalped 2 wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Umran Malik took a wicket each.
