David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne scored fantastic hundreds for Australia in the second ODI against South Africa. South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first on a good batting track in Bloemfontein. From the word go, Warner looked threatening. As Travis Head went bonkers at the start, Warner played a perfect second fiddle for his opening partner. At one stage, Australian batters batted as if it was a T20I game.

Head scored a fantastic 64 (36) which included 9 fours and 3 sixes. In the first 12 overs, Australia was already in a dominant position with a score of 109/1. Australia lost Mitchell Marsh for a golden duck, which made way for Marnus Labuschagne. After the middle order batter made his way into the middle, Warner started accelerating from his end. Even Labuschagne fired from his end.

David Warner played the South African bowlers well and looked at his best. The Southpaw brought his trademark cut shots and played some very good, lofted shots. In 93 balls, Warner scored 106 runs, which included 12 fours and 3 sixes. In the process, the 36-year-old scored his 20th ODI hundred, and 46th hundred in international cricket, which is the most for an opening batter.

Marnus Labuschagne played an aggressive knock

At the other end, Labuschagne played an uncharacteristic knock. Usually, the 29-year-old is known for his slow batting. Even in ODIs, Labuschagne usually plays slow. But the case was totally different in the second ODI. In his stay in the middle, Labuschagne spared no bowler and scored runs off every bowler. Throughout the series, Labuschagne has been very good.

In 99 balls, Labuschagne scored 124 runs, which included 19 boundaries and a six. The Australian number 4 showed an incredible display of gap finding. The talented batter showed why Australia should regret the decision of not having him in the ODI World Cup squad. It was just the second hundred in the ODI career of Labuschagne. In the last 2 innings, it has been the second 50+ score for Labuschagne in the format.
