Telugu actor Ram Charan has now become a global star after the massive success of his 2022 film 'RRR'. The SS Rajamouli movie has made India proud by winning an Oscar award in the Best Original Song category for 'Naatu Naatu' featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR. Although Ram has played a variety of roles on screen, the three Filmfare Award winner expressed his desire to work in a sports biopic featuring ace cricketer Virat Kohli.

During an interview at the India Today Conclave 2023, the Indian actor, producer and entrepreneur was asked to give some quick answers to some fun rapid fire questions. When Ram was asked about his favorite role to play in the future, the actor revealed that he would like to act in a sports film.

"I would like to play anything to do with sport. It's been a long due. Maybe a sports-based film,” Ram said.

The host, veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, further asked if he would be interested in playing the role of former Indian captain Virat Kohli, and an excited Ram did not hesitate to agree.

"Fantastic, he is an inspiring soul. I think given a chance, it will be fantastic as I look similar also," the RRR actor added.

Kohli dances to 'Naatu Naatu' during IND vs AUS first ODI

The choreography and beats of 'Naatu Naatu' - composed by MM Keeravani and penned by Chandra Bose - has gone viral ever since its release and has now grabbed the attention of audiences worldwide. The song has also won several prestigious awards including the Golden Globes 2023. The South Indian style of folk dance performed with percussion is trending everywhere and have prompted people to give it a try.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows Kohli shaking his leg for the Oscar wining song during the first ODI of India vs Australia at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The 34-year-old recently took the internet by storm after sharing a video of him dancing with Norway-based dance group Quick Style.

Meanwhile, India won the first match by five wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series thanks to the sensible batting display of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. The second ODI between India and Australia will be played in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, March 19.
