In a disturbing incident, India cricketer Rishabh Pant met with a near-fatal accident when he was driving back to Uttarakhand from Delhi. According to Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar, Pant was driving his BMW, which caught fire after it came in contact with the divider at the Narsan border. As per Pant’s claims, he said that he had lost control of the car as he had fallen asleep while maneuvering the vehicle.
According to a report, Pant tried to get out of the car, but he was initially unable to do so because of the injuries that he had sustained. Some men who were in the area came to the burning car but instead of assisting the injured cricketer, the men stole a bag of money and fled from the spot. The cricketer also had to call for an ambulance himself.
Pant broke the window of the car to escape the blaze
According to the Director General of Police in Uttarakhand, Pant was alone when the accident happened and he broke a window to escape. The doctors said that Pant had suffered injuries to his forehead and leg. Once the information was relayed, the Superintendent of Police Dehat Swapna Kishore Singh rushed to the spot. Dr Sushil Nagar ,chairman of Saksham hospital, said that his condition is stable.
He was first treated at a local hospital and then referred to Max Hospital in Dehradun. According to eyewitnesses, Pant’s car slammed into the railing and the car caught fire. He was severely injured post the accident.
Pant has been in great form in Test cricket. He made a game-changing 46 in the first Test against Bangladesh and, later, made a stunning 93 in the second Test when India were in a spot of bother. He has looked a different beast in Test cricket, but he has had a hard time scoring runs in T20s. Pant had to go to the National Cricket Academy before the all-important Test series against Australia.
