One of the most integral batters in Mumbai Indians’ team, Suryakumar Yadav is enduring a horror patch in his cricketing career. On Tuesday, in the clash against Delhi Capitals, Suryakumar Yadav got out on a golden duck and now has four ducks to his name in his last six innings.
The Indian batter was in phenomenal form last year and had taken the world by storm with his sensational batting display. He was one of the contenders for the Orange Cap in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier league. However, his current form doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence.
In pursuit of a 173-run target against Delhi in their last match, yesterday, Mumbai Indians made a pretty good start, thanks to an outstanding 71-run partnership between Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma.
Ishan Kishan (31 off 26), unfortunately, got out in the 8th over but Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma didn’t allow Delhi to pile pressure on them. Mukesh Kumar, however, brought Delhi back into the game as he sent back Tilak Varma (41 off 29), who was looking pretty good in the middle.
On the very next ball, Yadav got Suryakumar Yadav out on a golden duck. Pressure piled up, further, as Rohit Sharma, too, got out on the very next over. Delhi dragged the game till the very last ball but MI, managed to earn a win, eventually.
Mumbai Indians registered their first win of the season but Suryakumar Yadav’s form is a major concern for the team. The Mumbai batter scored 15 runs in MI’s first game against RCB. In their next match against CSK, Yadav departed for 1(2) off Santner.
In 3 games played so far this season, Suryakumar Yadav has managed to score 16 runs for the franchise. Mumbai haven’t made a great start to their season and Suryakumar Yadav’s poor form only makes things worse for them.
Here’s a look at how fans react to Yadav’s poor patch in IPL:
Bura waqt sabka aata hai boss. Chin up man.

All good players go through a rough patch. AND THEY ALL RISE AGAIN 💪

Surya Kumar Yadav is a prime example of the relevance of form in cricket. A batsman who was playing around however he likes has played just 6 balls with 4 ducks in recent 5 innings.
