Virat Kohli has finally ended his century drought in the longer format of the game by smashing his 28th Test ton on Day 4 of the final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The former Indian captain waited 1205 days for this moment and gave the Ahmedabad crowd and his fans around the world a joyous moment. He was looking set to smash his 8th double hundred but went without partners at the other end and ended up scoring 186 to help his team post a 91-run lead.

The ace batter went through the worst patch of his career in the last few years but found his form back in the shorter formats of the game, scoring centuries and playing a stunning knock against arch-rivals Pakistan in the 20-20 World Cup last year. He struggled in Test cricket and even failed in the first three matches of the BGT against Australia, which invited a lot of criticism from former cricketers. However, the 34-year-old shut down his critics by smashing his 75th international century.

After Kohli's spectacular knock, the Delhi Police wrote a hilarious tweet praising the Delhi boy. The tweet that addressed to the Gujarat Police went viral on social media.

"Dear@GujaratPolice, Don't book our Delhi boy #ViratKohli for voluntarily causing hurt to the guests. AUS-SOME, game@imVkohli!," wrote the official social media account of the Delhi Police.

IND-AUS battle will continue from June 7

Meanwhile, India registered their fourth consecutive Border-Gavaskar Trophy win after the final Test in Ahmedabad ended in a draw on Monday, March 13. The visitors trailed by 91 runs and scored 175-2 in their second innings before the teams agreed on a draw. Aussie opener Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne put up a solid batting display on Day 5 by scoring half centuries. Head was dismissed by Axar Patel on 90, but captain Steve Smith joined Labuschagne to draw the Test.

India will face the Aussies again in June as they both play in the World Test Championship final at the Oval in London. India booked a WTC final berth after Sri Lanka failed to win their first match against New Zealand in a nail-biting finish, earlier, today. Kiwis registered a historic win on the last ball, dashing the hopes of the Lankans.
