Fitness plays a key role in any sport and especially for a fast bowler in cricket. Star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is currently out of action in cricket due to a back injury. Bumrah’s recovery from the stress fracture has been very slow and is yet to gain full match fitness. According to reports, Indian Cricket Board is not keen to rush him into international cricket. This could mean that Bumrah could make his return to the Indian T20 League which is likely to commence in the first week of April.
However, it is also believed that the Central Board will not implement any workload management rule for Bumrah as they want him to give more and more game time before international cricket. The three-match ODI series against Australia is set to start just after Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
In September 2022, Bumrah suffered a back injury that prevented him from competing in the 20-20 World Cup. Earlier, He was supposed to join the Indian team in Guwahati for the ODI series against Sri Lanka this year, but he withdrew due to his injury. Bumrah's fitness is a concern for the Indian team management as the team wants him to be fit for the Upcoming 50-over World Cup and potential final of the Test Championship.
Bumrah hid his injury: Chetan Sharma
Meanwhile, the Chief selector of the Indian Cricket team Chetan Sharma has been caught on spy cam where he made a massive accusation against players and the board. In a massive revelation, Sharma exposed Indian team management and the fitness of Indian players.
Taking a direct shot at Jasprit Bumrah he said, “Players want to play; they do not want to miss any matches. In the case of Bumrah, he wasn't even able to bend down so what could he do? There is only a handful of such cases, however, some of them, just take injections on their own and they say they are fine.”
Reacting to his claims and Bumrah’s consistent injury fans took a shot at the pacer and asked him to retire. A user wrote on Twitter, “He will be fit for the league not for India.”
