Pakistan and England faced off against each other in the finals of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 and the two teams battled it off to clinch the title at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 13, Sunday. After winning the toss and electing to field first, the Three Lions pacers Sam Curran and Chris Jordan started coming up with stupendous spells.

While Jordan picked a two-for, it was all about the talented left-arm pacer, who bagged a three-for to his name after conceding only 12 in his entire spell. England restricted Pakistan to a meagre total of 137 runs and eventually went on to pick up 8 wickets in the first innings. With Alex Hales departing in the very first chasing the total, Jos Buttler and Philip Salt lifted the team from the labyrinth.

However, Salt, who tried to take it deep, could not last beyond 9 balls, and eventually made his way back to the pavilion after contributing 10 runs to England’s scoreboard. However, Ben Stokes, the man who did it for England in the 2019 50-over World Cup rose to the occasion and saved his wicket at the other end.

Although the Three Lions lost the wickets of Harry Brook and Moeen Ali in quick succession, the southpaw, stood rock solid at the other end and ensured that the chase was on. It was Stokes, who scored the winning runs in front of the mighty crowd and took England home.

With 5 wickets in the hand, England eventually chased down the target with 6 balls to spare. Pakistan, who put on a tough fight with the ball, were left heartbroken, and so were their fans who hoped for a repeat of the 1992 50-over World Cup.

However, with emotions running high in both camps, a meme fest was going on and fans on Twitter left no stone unturned to take a dig at the Men in Green, who trolled India when they lost to England in the semi-finals on Thursday.

As it stands, let us take a look at a few interesting memes post England's victory in the finals of the 20-20 World Cup 2022:
