To make his prediction that he will eventually score four sixes in an over during the Indian T20 League 2023, Parag turned to his official Twitter account. "My inner conscience says I'm hitting 4 sixes in an over at some point this ITL.." Parag wrote on Twitter.

Prior to the start of the Indian T20 League, Riyan Parag was scoring runs routinely on the domestic circuit. Each group will contain five teams, and the teams will be split into two groups. Mumbai, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Lucknow will make up Group A, while Group B will have Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Punjab, and Gujarat. In the 2023 edition, there will be 70 league games, including 18 doubleheaders.

Each team will play three games—two against the opposing group and one against the team from its own group. The 1000th game of the Indian T20 League will take place on May 6, 2023. Mumbai and Chennai will face off in the marquee game.
