Cricket’s Governing Body has decided to organize a meeting in Birmingham. The meeting will have an agenda of discussing the future tour program from 2024 to 2031. The meeting is scheduled to be held on 25th and 26th July 2022.
It has been learned by the sources that this meeting will be held before the commencement of the commonwealth games. CWG is scheduled to be held in Birmingham only from July 28 onwards. Apart from the discussion on the future tour program for the 2024-2031 cycle, there will also be a deliberation on the elections for the chairman of the apex governing of International cricket.
Indian Cricket Board to discuss extended window for the Indian T20 League
Notably, the chairman of cricket’s governing body is scheduled to be appointed by the end of this very year. The board members will also have a talk regarding the 20-20 World Cup which is scheduled to commence in Australia later in the dusk of this year.
There are also speculations that the Indian Cricket Board will also put its point to have an extended window of the Indian T20 League. This extended window is supposed to be applied in the Indian T20 League from the next season of 2023.
Previously, the secretary of Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah cleared the air about it by saying that the Indian T20 League will be played in a window that will last for two and half months.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board might come up with the idea of a three-nation series, which they are planning to organize for some time.
Speaking of the current action in International cricket, four Test-playing teams are in two separate bilateral clashes, including the likes of India, England, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
India is on a tour of England where they are currently playing the rescheduled fifth Test match of the five-match series. This match is a part of the series which was scheduled to be played last year.
On the other hand, the Pat Cummins-led Australian team is on a tour of Sri Lanka where they are playing the two-match Test series after having played a three-match T20I series and five-match ODI series earlier. Currently, Australia lead the Test series with a score line of 1-0.
