In the 4th One Day Internationals against New Zealand, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam hammered a record-breaking innings. Azam hammered a magnificent century as he scored 107 runs off 117 balls. Playing on a good batting surface at National Stadium in Karachi, the Pakistan was invited to bat first against the Kiwis.

Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 14 runs off 17 balls with the help of two boundaries. He was dismissed by pacer Matt Henry. After his departure, Azhar Masood along with Babar Azam added 50 runs for the second wicket. Masood scored 44 runs off 55 balls with the help of seven boundaries. He was dismissed by spinner Ish Sodhi.

After that, Babar, along with Mohammad Rizwan, added 42 runs for the third wicket. Rizwan was dismissed while trying to clinch a quick single. He scored 24 runs off 28 balls with the help of a boundary. After that, Babar added 117 runs for the fourth wicket along with Agha Salman. Salman, during his innings, scored 58 runs off 46 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.

Babar Azam became the fastest player to score 5000 runs in ODIs

After these brilliant innings, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam also established a new record as he became the fastest to score 5000 runs in the one-day internationals. He achieved this feat in 97 innings and replaced Hashim Amla, who did the same in 101 innings. However, this is his 18th ODI ton and 1st of the series.

Azam scored 107 runs off the 117 balls with the help of ten boundaries. He was dismissed by Ben Lister in the third last over of the game. Azam has scored 275 runs in four innings at an average of 68.75 with a strike rate of 94.50.
