Bengal Cricket Association's joint secretary Debabrata Das has revealed that the Bengal team and the Lahore team will go against each other soon. He revealed that in the T20I series in Namibia, the Bengal team and Lahore team will lock horns. ESPNCricinfo reported the secretary of the Bengal association saying that they agreed to play in the series to prepare for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.  Abhimanyu Easwaran will captain the team for the tournament.

"The broadcasters for the tournament came before our president (Avishek Dalmiya) and invited us. We took the opportunity to play six-seven games before the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy because we can get to play against a World Cup team," Das said. He added that they will be sending a new Bengal team to the tournament. He added that they wanted to test their skills.

The four teams participating in the Nambia T20I series will be Lahore, Bengal, Namibia and a domestic team from South Africa. "The team we are sending abroad, this is a new team. We want to see how they play, how they tackle this tournament," Das added. He said that the local talent would be hunted for the Nambia series. He revealed that those who perform well might make it to the Bengal team.

"The ambition is that there are several young players who are playing in local cricket in Bengal and performing fantastically with respect to T20s. So we are sending mostly those young guys so that we can make our team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy," Das added. It is going to be an exciting series with the domestic teams of India and Pakistan going against each other.

The series will take place in September. And it will lay the foundation for some young talents who are looking for an opportunity. If it works out, then we'll be able to witness more young talents coming into the radar for Bengal. As far as now is concerned, all eyes will be on executing the series well.
