Following England's stunning 10-wicket win over India in the semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 on Thursday, Ben Stokes’ one-year-old tweet has resurfaced on Twitter. In his Tweet, he predicted England and Pakistan to reach the final of the World Cup and the same turned true after witnessing the results of the two semi-finals.

It is worth mentioning that Stokes had predicted that result for the last year’s 20-20 World Cup. However, neither of the two sides managed to reach the finals. The cricket fans, however, have managed dug up the old tweet and made it trending today, following India’s defeat.

Here’s the tweet:

"England vs Pakistan Final ???"

Pakistan became the first team to reach the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday after beating New Zealand by 7 wickets. The second semi-final between India and England also turned out to a one-sided affair as England crushed India by 10 wickets.

India disappointed one and all with their performance with both bat and ball. They didn’t get off to a great start but Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya stabilized the innings with a 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Kohli got out after scoring 50 off 40 balls but Pandya remained unbeaten till the end. He went on to score a sensational knock of 63 runs in 33 balls, helping India notch a par score of 168 runs at the end of the first innings.

England openers, Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, later, overshadowed Pandya’s heroics as they stitched a match-winning 170-run partnership. The duo went on a leather hunt and chased down the target in just 16 overs. Buttler and Alex Hales remained unbeaten on 80 (49) and 86 (47) respectively, helping the team notch a 10-wicket win.

With that defeat, India’s are knocked out of the competition. England, on the other hand, will meet Pakistan in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
