The pre-match show ahead of the game between Wolverhampton and Liverpool on January 18, Wednesday, was affected by pranks as a prankster managed to keep a cell phone at the back of the set in the studio, eventually turning on a moaning sound. Gary Lineker’s broadcast was disrupted by the noise, although the likes of Paul Ince and Danny Murphy carried on with it alongside Lineker.

The former English footballer took to Twitter to share the image of the cell phone that played the noise, with him claiming later that he was not sure if the audience were able to hear it although fans took to Twitter that they were able to get the noise 10 minutes into the broadcast. The Livemint reported that BBC is looking into the issue and a video on YouTube claims that it was the work of a prankster Daniel Jarvis.

For the unversed, Jarvis once had a face-off with star English cricketer Johnny Bairstow as he entered the Oval pitch. Jarvis was given a suspended sentence after being found guilty of aggravated trespass. “We apologise to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening," the BBC said in its statement after the moaning sound was heard in the broadcast.

Liverpool emerge victorious against Wolverhampton

It was an exciting game between the two sides, although Liverpool managed to live up to their expectations, taking home the win in the third-round match-up of the FA Cup. To add more, it was Harvey Elliott who produced the winning goal for the Reds in the 13th minute, with the defenders ensuring that the Wolves remained goalless right throughout the match.

Amid all the chaos, how did the prankster manage to get into the studio and the place the cellphone still remains a mystery, with fans claiming that it might be insider work. BBC, on the other hand, would hope to reflect on their mistake and ensure that it does not happen again, with Tuesday’s saga putting them under the radar.
