According to a report by Interactive Avenues, the digital arm of IPG Mediabrands India, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli has won the most number of social media with 7 million mentions, followed by 6 million mentions of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni during the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

The social media listening study titled 'IPL 2023: Unveiling the Roar' revealed that Kohli emerged as the most popular player on social media with 7 million social media mentions across IPL 2023, despite RCB being knocked out of IPL.

According to the reports, the former RCB skipper was chosen as the second 'Favourite Player' in IPL 2023, just behind MS Dhoni. With 6 million social media mentions, CSK skipper MS Dhoni was the second 'Most Popular' player in IPL 2023. According to the Hansa Research IPLomania Report, CSK captain MS Dhoni was chosen as the 'Most Favourite' captain in IPL 2023, ahead of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Faf du Plessis, and KL Rahul.

With 3 million social media mentions, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was the third 'Most Popular' player in IPL 2023. Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans' opener and IPL 2023 Orange Cap winner, had 1 million social media mentions this season.

According to interactions on Twitter during April, CSK became the most popular IPL team in the continent and the fourth best in the world. With 7.6 million mentions on social media, they were also the most talked about and famous IPL team in 2023.

Rinku Singh's five sixes in the last over of Yash Dayal against Gujrat Titans became the Highest social media likes. With his effort, Kohli became the star of that day in the IPL and on Social Media. He also became the most popular emerging player in the IPL.

Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had an on-field argument with star batter Virat Kohli during his team's IPL 2023 match against RCB at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. That engagement between those three became the most mentioned moment in IPL 2023.
