Bangladesh played poorly in the Asia Cup 2022 and bowed out in the group stage itself. The Bengal Tigers appointed Shakib Al Hasan as their captain for the continental tournament and the skipper did try his best. Despite winning momentum at several key moments, Bangladesh bowed out in the group stages.
The Board has now announced the squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Shakib Al Hasan is all set to remain the Bangladesh skipper for the mega event in Australia. Mahmudullah Riyad got kicked out of the team on the back of poor performances of late.
However, the big plus for the Bengal Tigers would be the return of Litton Das. The right-handed batter is one of the reputed players of the Bangladesh team and would look to do well in the event in Australia. Pacers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman retained the spots alongside Shabbir Rahman.
The Bangladesh squad looks strong with good bowling depth and a dangerous batting line-up. The team proved in the past that cannot be undermined and it will exactly be the same in Australia as well. Nurul Hasan Sohan has made it to the squad adding to the keeping department.
Afif Hossain, Yasir Ali and Najmul Hossain Shanto made a cut to the national squad. Soumya Sarkar, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain and Shak Mahedi Hasan will be the reserve players for the 20-20 World Cup.
