Southern Brave has not had a good season so far and they tried to win their third match against Trent Rockets in match 25 of The Hundred 2022. Trent Rockets, on the other hand, have had a good season as they lost only one of their first six matches and the seventh match proved to be vital to claiming the top position. The Brave skipper James Vince called it right at the toss and elected to field first as chasing has always helped the green team.

Alex Hales and David Malan were told to open first and one of them perished early while the latter sustained to produce stellar innings for the team. The former could not last beyond seven balls as Paul Stirling cozened him with a skilful ball, while Malan carried on with his foray and built the fort for his team intending to make it big. Tom Kohler-Cadmore joined him at the other end but failed to back him as he perished after contributing eight runs forcing Samit Patel to mark the crease earlier than expected.

The 38-year-old raced back to the pavilion after adding twenty-one runs to the board and all burden fell on skipper Lewis Gregory to take the team out of the tangle. His failure meant that the New Zealand batter Colin Munro had to toil it hard at the crease but in vain as he failed to contribute more than sixteen runs to the team. Trent Rockets ended up aggregating a total of 138 runs for the loss of six wickets in hundred balls making the chase easier for James Vince and co.

Paul Stirling, who produced a stellar inning the other day, bagged a duck to his name and so did the skipper James Vince. The duo walked back to the dressing room within a span of four balls making the meagre target look big for the rest of the batters. However, Alex Davies, the man for the Brave on that day, steadied up first and ensured he prevented the collapse as he and Ross Whiteley made it tough for Gregory's bowlers to pick up a scalp.

A fifty from the former and a vital thirty-odd runs from the latter paved way for the Brave to get out of the maze quite easily. The Singaporean star Tim David finished things off for the Vince-led team as Davies remained unbeaten on 51. The Hundred tournament's fans were quite disappointed with the Rockets' performance while a few heaped praise on Southern Brave for their thumping win.
