Pakistan and Bangladesh are playing in the first Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2023 in Lahore. Pakistan bowled out Bangladesh at 193. Pakistan will be facing India on September 10.

A very unusual incident of floodlight failure took place during the Pakistan vs Bangladesh cricket match in Lahore has once again highlighted the poor state of infrastructure in Pakistan's sports grounds. As the flood lights went out, causing a halt in play, fans took to social media to express their frustration and make fun of the situation.

There have been a few games that were called off because of rain in Sri Lanka, despite the fact that the Super Four schedule, which was supposed to move venues, has not been finalized. Fans are now quite frustrated due to Pakistan's poor infrastructure, which includes match-day floodlights that are cut off during the match.

This incident is not an isolated one. It is a reflection of the lack of investment and maintenance in sports infrastructure across the country. The floodlights are just one aspect; there have been instances of crumbling stands, inadequate facilities for players and spectators, and outdated technology being used.

Pakistan pace attack put up a super show, bowled out Bangladesh for 193

Pakistan was the host country this year for the Asia Cup, but the Asia Cricket Council (ACC) went for a hybrid model under which Sri Lanka was given 9 matches. However, due to rain in Sri Lanka, the PCB earlier this week asked the ACC to shift the remaining matches to Pakistan.

In the first match of super-four in Asia Cup 2023, winning the toss Bangladesh Captain Shakib Al Hassan opted to Bat first, With the exception of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim, none of the Bangladeshi batters were unable to get going against the Pakistani pace attack, hence Bangladesh continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. The senior Bangladeshi pair put up a critical 100-run stand to drag their team back in the game, but they ultimately suffered another collapse and were bowled out for a score that fell short of par. In the powerplay, Bangladesh consistently lost wickets, As Pakistan bowled out Bangladesh for 193 in Lahore, Haris Rauf grabbed a four-for and Naseem Shah picked up three.
