The tensions between India and Pakistan have caused people to have different opinions regarding the participation of Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023 which will take place in India. The last time an Indian team toured Pakistan was in 2005-06. The last time a bilateral series took place between India and Pakistan was in 2012 in India.

India has always ignored playing against or in Pakistan in the last decade. The two teams have only met each other in big tournaments like ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, and Asia Cup since then. The discussion is going on regarding the participation of Pakistan in the upcoming ODI World Cup, which will be held in India.

India has convinced the teams to accept the hybrid model for Asia Cup 2023, which has not gone well with Pakistan. So, a panel was named to discuss the participation of Pakistan in the marquee tournament headed by the sports minister of the country. Many want Pakistan to not participate in World Cup. But some others believe that Pakistan must take part in the World Cup.
