The Indian Cricket team on Monday beat Pakistan by a massive 228 runs. The stars of the show were Virat Kohli with the bat who scored 122 not out. With the ball, it was Kuldeep Yadav who picked 5/25 from his eight overs. Pakistan were all out for 128 while chasing 357 for the win.
It was a special game for KL Rahul who scored an emotional ton for his side in his comeback game. The 31-year-old had replaced Shreyas Iyer in the side to make his comeback to the playing XI. KL Rahul, hadn’t played a game of cricket since injuring himself on 1st May during the IPL game.

Following KL Rahul’s 111 not out, his wife Athiya Shetty took to Instagram. The Bollywood actress wrote, “Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise. You are everything. I love you”. She went on to post a picture of KL Rahul looking up at the sky and celebrating after scoring his century.

KL Rahul had been in woeful form with the bat in the test format and lost his place to Shubman Gill. His ODI form though was different as he was relishing the chance to play at number four. KL Rahul also has become the frontline wicketkeeper for India in the ODI format.
During the toss on Sunday, it was learned that Shreyas Iyer was out of the game. The reason behind the move was the 28-year-old had back spasms. This gave KL Rahul a chance to make a comeback to the side and he did not let go of the chance.
The right-handed batter from Karnataka repaid the faith of his skipper as he scored his 6th century in ODI cricket. Rahul had last scored an ODI ton in 2021 when he hit 108 against England in Pune. During his knock of 111 not out, KL Rahul also went past 2000 runs in ODI cricket.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was in praise for KL Rahul during the post-match interaction. Rohit Sharma said “Virat’s innings was beautifully paced. And then KL, last minute to get back from injury and play 5 minutes before the toss. We told him to get ready. Shows the mindset of the player. Look at how he batted, there were lots of positives from the openers and then Virat and KL”
