The Apex Cricket Council has recently announced its Men's T20I team of the year for 2022, and it includes some of the biggest names in the game. The team is led by England's wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler, who has been in outstanding form in the T20 format in recent years. The team also includes Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, who has been one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in the T20 format in recent years. Rizwan was the second-highest run-scorer in T20I cricket in 2022, with 996 runs.
Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, also finds a place in the team. Kohli has been one of the best batters in the world after regaining his form at the Asia Cup 2022. He was the second-highest run-scorer at the Asia Cup 2022 (276) and the highest run-scorer at the 20-20 World Cup 2022 with 296 runs.
Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian batsman, is also included in the team. Yadav scored 1164 runs in 2022; the highest of any player in the calendar year. Moreover, his strike rate of 187.43 was unmatched by any batter. Glenn Philips, Sikandar Raza and Hardik Pandya also find places in the team.
Player of the series at the 20-20 World Cup 2022, Sam Curran naturally has been included in the team as well, alongside Wanindu Hasaranga who took Sri Lanka to the Asia Cup 2022 win. Pakistan played the final of both Asia Cup 2022 as well as the 20-20 World Cup 2022 in which Haris Rauf had a big impact and hence he has also been included.
Men’s T20I Team of the Year
Jos Buttler (C/WK), Mohammad Rizwan, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Glenn Philips, Sikandar Raza, Hardik Pandya, Sam Curran, Wanindu Hasaranga, Haris Rauf, Josh Little
In conclusion, the ICC Men's T20I team of the year 2022 is a star-studded lineup that includes some of the best players in the world in T20 cricket. These players have consistently performed well in recent years and have earned their place in this team through their performances on the field.
As is the case with cricket fans however, many did not agree with the team selected and had their own logic for other players to be included into the team.
