Cristiano Ronaldo is starting a new chapter in club football as his dark and shaky chapter with Manchester United has been put behind him and he has signed a contract for Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia. The club announced that the deal is estimated to be more than 200 million Euros.
The striker put on the dotted line with the club and the contract will be in force until 2025. On the official Twitter handle of Al Nassr, a picture was shared of Ronaldo holding up the blue and yellow jersey with his favourite number 7 printed on the jersey. Al Nassr have won 9 trophies in the Arabian League and it has been three years since they have last won a title.
"I can't wait to discover a new football league in a different country," "The vision with which Al Nassr operates is very inspiring, and I am delighted to join my teammates, so that together we can help the team achieve greater success," Ronaldo had recently ended his contract with Manchester United. He had issues with the manager Eric Ten Hag and also the top brass that made him terminate his contract.
"This is more than history in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @cristiano to your new home @alnassr_fc" tweeted the Saudi-based club.
He had not had the best of times at United where he was often sidelined and not given enough game time. The other shocking part was that the 37-year-old had to undergo more hardships during the FIFA World Cup 2022 when he was benched by his national side Portugal.
Ronaldo looked forward to a different environment with the Portugal team after his tumultuous period with United where he had a bumpy ride with the red devils. The Portugal great did not have the best World Cup as he was benched as the World Cup went on after he had scored goals in the initial stages.

Cristiano Ronaldo signing for Al Nasr is a good move for the following reasons:
1) Its great for Asian football & the Asian Champions League … which is more competitive than some think. And World Football is currently too Euro-Centric…
All the best @Cristiano pic.twitter.com/1eNMuRRjCr
