Virat Kohli has had a decent outing at the Asia Cup 2022 so far. The veteran Indian took a break from the game for some time and worked on his mental fitness over time. The legendary batter announced his comeback in the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan. He made a decent 35 off 34 deliveries in that game.
The Delhi-born went on to score a fifty in the next match against Hong Kong. With that, he also became the first player to bag a fifty in the ongoing Asia Cup. Ahead of the Super Four clash against Pakistan on Sunday (September 4), the Indian star was spotted training with a high-altitude mask. The purpose of the mask is to replicate training in an elevated environment to improve cardio fitness.
Sports Journalist, 'Nikhil Naz' tweeted the same and explained the reason behind wearing high-altitude mask. He explained that the masks are usually worn to improve cardio and lung fitness of a player.
"Virat Kohli using high altitude mask during cardio training. A technique used by elite athletes, especially long distance runners to strengthen their lungs and breathing muscles," he tweeted.

'Everyone has a limit': Virat Kohli
Ahead of the start of the Asia Cup 2022, Virat Kohli said in an interview with Star Sports that he needed to work on his mental fitness during the break. He added that he was trying to fake his intensity.
"I came to the realisation that I was kind of trying to fake my intensity a bit recently— you know you can do that, you are competitive and you are saying I have the intensity but your body is telling you to stop and it is telling you to take a break and step back. I am looked at as a guy who is very mentally strong and I am. Everyone has a limit and you need to recognise that limit otherwise things can get unhealthy for you,” he said earlier.
India will now face Pakistan in the Super Four clash on Sunday (September 4). The top two teams from the Super Four will qualify for the final. India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are the four teams which have reached the Super Four stage. Rest of the teams have gone back home.
