Virat Kohli, the 'king' of the modern era, has been struggling to collect runs under his belt of late. Many have hoped for the veteran's comeback and opined on his form. The Indian legend was rested for the West Indies and Zimbabwe series. Despite his poor form, the batter has toiled hard in the nets and has worked on his fitness right throughout the slump.

The star with 70 international centuries will return in action from August 28 in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. He will be apparently seen with a new 'weapon' in his hand. The Bangalore player will reportedly use a new limited edition bat made for him by 'MRF'. The bat has been named 'Gold Wizard' and it will be the first instance of Kohli coming up with a different bat since 'Nike'.

The English Willow bat costs around INR 22,000. Virat Kohli was seen working out hard at the gym ahead of the big event in the United Arab Emirates. Averaging just around 25 across formats this year, the tournament will serve as the perfect preparation for the veteran before the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The Delhi-born will be desperate collect some runs in the Asia Cup 2022.

He is still fit as a fiddle: Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram opined in a presser organized by Star Sports that the Indian veteran is still fit as a fiddle. He backed Virat Kohli and hoped for his return in the Asia Cup 2022. However, the former Pakistani cricketer cheekily added that the Indian legend must come back to form after the match against Pakistan.

"He is still fit as a fiddle. He is still one of the best fielders in the Indian squad. As they say class is forever and that is Virat Kohli,” Akram said. He opined on the comparisons between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli and added that it was too early to comment. Akram highlighted Kohli's achievements and admitted that Babar Azam's potential to become the next Virat Kohli.

However, the former Pakistani cricketer felt that it was too early to compare Azam with the Indian legend.
