India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2022 turned out to be a nail-biting encounter on Sunday. The winner of the clash wasn't decided until Hardik Pandya smashed a six off the fourth ball of the final over to steal the win for India.
With that, India got off to a winning start. There were also a few records that were broken during the spine-tingling clash. Here's a look at them:
1) Bhuvneshwar Kumar - Best bowling figures by an Indian against Pakistan in T20I Format:
Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the pace attack the other night against Pakistan and he bagged a four-for. The Hyderabad pacer has been one of the best and most experienced Indian bowlers in the white-ball format.
The Indian pacer was right on the money from the first over itself. He broke the record for the best figures by an Indian against Pakistan in the T20I format, returning with figures for 4 for 26 in 4 overs.
2) The first instance of Indian pacers picking up all ten wickets in the T20I format for India:
It was all about pacers in the match against Pakistan as they troubled the neighborhood batters with short-pitched deliveries. Hardik Pandya bagged a three-for, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed a four-wicket haul.
The pacers kept picking wickets at regular intervals and made things easier for India. Avesh Khan picked up one scalp, while Arshdeep Singh bagged two. All ten wickets were shared among the four Indian pacers and it was the first time that this has happened in the T20I format.
3) Highest fifth wicket partnership for India against Pakistan in the T20I Format:
The Pakistani bowlers did not let India take an easy win as Naseem Shah picked up the wicket of KL Rahul right in the first over. The pacers troubled India and the match went down the wire. After the fall of fourth wicket, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja joined hands to put on a partnership of 52 runs to register the highest fifth-wicket partnership for India against Pakistan in the format. The previous best was between MS Dhoni and Robin Uthappa (46 runs) in 2007.
