India got off to a great start against arch-rivals Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2022 opener and Hardik Pandya turned out to be the star of the night. The all-rounder picked up a three-for and scored 33 runs off seventeen balls as he sealed the match with a six. On the other hand, Afghanistan thumped Sri Lanka in the first match of the ongoing Asia Cup within 10 overs and upset the island nation.
Sri Lanka's biggest and special fan, Gayan Senanayake is in the United Arab Emirates to cheer for his nation and is also a great fan of Team India. The Indian star batter Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma took some time off to take a picture with the super fan and the image has now spread like a wildfire.

The duo impressed their fans and won hearts with their kind gesture. Virat Kohli, won hearts earlier when he allowed a Pakistani fan, who was stopped by the security guards to take a picture with him. Senanayake took it to his Twitter account to express his gratitude for both of the players and acknowledged their modesty. "Met Rohit & Virat today," he captioned the image.

However, this is not the first instance where the Sri Lankan superfan has met Virat Kohli. The fan had even attended the veteran's wedding reception and the image went viral at that time.

India will face Hong Kong in their second outing
Team India will take on Hong Kong in their next encounter at Dubai International Stadium on August 31. It will be a great experience for the Hong Kong team to play against superstars of cricket and the Asia Cup will then lead into the Super Fours round. The Bangalore batter came back into the squad after a brief break and scored a well-made thirty in the high-octane match against Pakistan.
As far as Team India is concerned, the biggest concern would be the form of KL Rahul as he bagged a golden duck in the first match. The Lucknow skipper failed to emulate his best in the recently concluded Zimbabwe series as well and would look to collect some runs in the second match against Hong Kong.
