The clash of the titans in cricket is back at the Dubai International stadium as India and Pakistan will lock horns here for the blockbuster encounter on Sunday, 28th of September in the second match of the 2022 Asia Cup.
Pakistan have done well recently against India after romping home with a dominating 10-wicket win over their longtime-rivals in their last meeting in the T20 World Cup in 2021 held in the UAE. India, meanwhile, have been in good touch, of late, and will take confidence from the victories against England and West Indies.
Pakistan have only played one T20I match in 2022. They did not have a good outing there against Australia in April. Australia dominated and beat Pakistan by three wickets, hunting down a target of 163 runs.
India
India are in a pretty good form, having beaten England in England 2-1. They also took West Indies down 4-1 in a comprehensive manner, with a young side in the ranks. India have had a nice run of form in the T20 internationals and will look to start the Asia Cup on a good note.
Pakistan
The Men in Green have played only 1 T20I match so far, in which Australia beat them comprehensively by a 3 wicket margin. Pakistan will have good recent memories in the Middle East which has been their longtime home venue where they beat India in 2021 20-20 World Cup in grand fashion. They will look to set the ball rolling against the Men in Blue.
Players to watch out for
India
Virat Kohli- The talisman has had a lull of form just before the Asia Cup. He will look to regain his lost touch and score big, once again, so that India can do well in the continental tournament. He will also look to take on the mantle and lead the team with the bat in all the games.
He has got a great record against Pakistan in T20I internationals. He has got 311 runs against the Men in Green till now . He has 3 half-centuries against them.
Rohit Sharma-
The skipper will be rearing to go back on the field, fully fit after he took a break and did not play the Zimbabwe series. The man with 3 double hundreds in white ball cricket will want to score big against the Pakistanis and put out a statement that India are here to win the Asia Cup. His record against Pakistan in T20I internationals is lukewarm. In 7 innings so far, he has scored 70 runs with the bat with no fifties belonging to him.
Suryakumar Yadav-
India's shot making sensation has been in splendid form and will look to play good knocks for India in the middle order. The man has fantastic temperament and a cool head on his shoulders which will help him to withstand pressure situations in the Asia Cup. His ability to play in all corners of the ground is his strength.
Pakistan
Babar Azam - The skipper of Pakistan has been churning the runs down in white ball cricket and will look to do the same in the Asia Cup. The batting superstar of Pakistan will look to go at full throttle in the Asia Cup and take the bowlers go on a leather hunt. He has faced India in a lone encounter where he made 68 runs in 52 balls in the last clash in 2021.
Mohammad Rizwan- The top order wicket-keeper batter has been a superb find for Pakistan. He too has scored a mountain of runs for the Men in Green in short form cricket. Rizwan smashed 79 runs off just 55 deliveries in their last meeting. He will want to take responsibility and play long innings for Pakistan
Harris Rauf- He has the ability to bowl thunderbolts at 140 Kmph. He will be Pakistan's trump card in the absence of Shaheen Afridi and will want to put a good show to cement his place in the side.

Pitch Report
The conditions in Dubai will be hot as usual, and the dew factor would not trouble sides due to the hot weather. This could also mean that the coin is out of the equation. The wicket will provide a balance between bat and ball. Teams would want to dictate the flow of the game by fielding first and then go after the score in the second innings.
