Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh skipper opened up on the India clash to be played on November 2, Wednesday in Adelaide. However, his choice of words did not go well with the Indian fans who felt that the Bangla Tigers skipper must have given it a thought before uttering them.

For the unversed, Shakib, who addressed the media ahead of the tough clash, said that he and his men are not here to win the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. Further, the left-handed batter said that Bangladesh beating India would be an upset as India are favourites to clinch the title.

“I think it will be a full house because India gets good support wherever they play. I think it will be a good game. India are the favourites heading into the match. They have come here to win the World Cup, we are not here to win the World Cup. You can understand the situation, if we win against India, it will be an upset and we will try our best to upset India,” Shakib was quoted as saying in the press conference.

Commenting on Suryakumar Yadav, the man in form, Shakib lauded and said that he is the Number 1 batter of all in the current Indian team. “He has been playing really well for them. I think he is probably their No.1 batter in terms of the record in the last year. They have few world-class players,” said the captain further.

Dear Shakib, what are you here for?

Fans, who were upset with the skipper’s choice of words, questioned if the team were there for a picnic rather. However, Bangladesh are in great form as they defeated Zimbabwe in a dramatic last-ball thriller.

India, on the other hand, would hope to turn things around in the upcoming clash and clinch a win against the Bangla Tigers. After facing a defeat against South Africa in the previous encounter, the Men in Blue are hopeful of a win in the next battle as it would inch them closer to the knockouts.
