Amidst the ongoing 16th edition of Indian T20 League, the Mumbai franchise launched a gaming chair for INR 29,000. The chair is given the iconic blue and gold colours, the same as their jersey, reflecting the team's ethos. The franchise announced the launch of the chair on social media on Tuesday and informed fans that it is available for sale and can be purchased on their official shopping website.

"Thayar ka, Paltan? Cheer for Mumbai in style with the World's First Mumbai Indians Chair", the franchise posted on Twitter. Six months no cost Equated Monthly Installment (EMI) option is also available.

Mumbai lost to Bangalore in their first match of ITL 2023

Mumbai were thrashed by Bangalore in their first match of the Indian T20 League at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, April 2. As a result of a miserable performance by both their batters and bowlers, the five-time champions lost the encounter by eight-wicket.

After enduring a tough phase in the last ITL season, fans were hoping that the Mumbai would start the new season on a winning note. But it was a total disappointment for them as none of the batters, except Tilak Varma, could play responsibly for their team.

The former champions continue to face some of the same problems from the last two seasons. Their top-order batters – Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav – struggled to find runs. Debutant Cameron Green didn’t have a great start in the big league and the same was the case with England’s star pacer Jofra Archer, who returned after missing last season due to injury.

Their bowling department looked clueless against Bangalore’s destructive batting order. Chasing 172, Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis put on a 148-run partnership and crushed the Mumbai bowlers. Arshad Khan dismissed du Plessis in the 15th over, but by then he had done enough damage to the opponent. Bangalore lost a couple of wickets, but Kohli, unbeaten on 82 off 49 balls, smashed the ball over long-on to lead the team to victory with almost four overs to spare.

Meanwhile, many reacted to Mumbai's announcement that the chair was too expensive and unaffordable.
