Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) demolished Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 112 runs on Sunday, May 14 to keep their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 playoff hopes alive. RR batters faltered in a 172-run chase and were bowled out for 59 runs in 10.3 overs, the third-lowest total in IPL history. While celebrating their epic win, former RCB captain Virat Kohli made a hilarious comment in the dressing room.

The Bangalore-based franchise shared a video on Twitter of the RCB squad rejoicing with hilarious reactions and comments. "Dressing Room Reactions RR v RCB. A near-perfect game, 2 points in the bag, positive NRR - that sums up the satisfying victory in Jaipur. Parnell, Siraj, Maxwell, Bracewell, and Anuj take us through the events that transpired and the road ahead," the video caption read.

What caught everyone's attention, though, was when Kohli made fun of RR by claiming, "If I had bowled, they would have been all out for 40." While the RCB opener's comment is trending on social media, many are reacting that Kohli himself trolled him while celebrating the win. Fans recalled the 2012 IPL encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and RCB, in which Albie Morkel scored 28 runs in the 19th over against Kohli to pull off an incredible chase in the final ball of the innings.

Shimron Hetmyer saved RR from further embarrassment

Meanwhile, the record for the lowest score in IPL history is held by RCB (48), which they registered against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2017 IPL. The 2016 finalists had a great chance to hand RR the embarrassing record in Sunday's match, but Shimron Hetmyer's three consecutive sixes off Karn Sharma’s over saved them.

RCB posted a competitive score of 171-5 on the back of half-centuries from captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell and a quick-fire knock from Anuj Rawat. While defending, Mohammed Siraj picked the wicket of in-form batter Yashasvi Jaiswal on the second delivery and gave the visitors a dream start. Then Wayne Parnell joined the party and removed Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson in the second over.

Half of their team was sent back inside the powerplay, and when it appeared that RR would break RCB's record, Hetmyer came to their rescue with a 19-ball 35. After his wicket, the visitors were left with only formalities to wrap up the innings and Karn took two wickets in the 11th over to end the game.
