The Delhi Capitals are off to a terrible start in the Indian Premier League 2023. They are at the bottom of the points table after losing their first four matches. With a desperate need to win their next game, they are currently playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

However, while chasing a target of 175 runs, they had a horrendous start. Impact player and opener Prithvi Shaw continued his poor run in the 16th edition of the cash-rich league as he was run out in the first over of the innings without adding anything on the board.

A direct hit from RCB's impact player, Anuj Rawat, caused Shaw to depart for a two-ball duck. Mohammed Siraj delivered a length delivery just outside the off stump. Shaw stayed on the back foot and pushed it to the right of the cover, but Rawat skipped across to his right, dived, and held the ball to a one-handed stop. He stood up and threw the ball down the bowler's end, catching Shaw well short of his crease.

Kuldeep Yadav shines with the ball

Earlier, RCB had a not-so-decent outing at their home ground, which is tailor-made for the batters. While Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis got a blazing start in the first innings, the latter could not continue for longer. He was dismissed after scoring 22 runs in the 16 balls that he faced. On the other hand, the former team captain went on to score a steady half-century, 50 runs in 34 balls.

While Mahipal Lomror (26 runs in 18 balls, Glenn Maxwell (24 runs in 14 balls), and Shahbaz Ahmed (20 runs in 12 balls) played brief cameos, it was enough for the team. Spinners were at the top of their game as they restricted the home side to a score of 174//6 in their allotted 20 overs.

For DC, Kuldeep Yadav, with his figures of 4-1-23-2, was the pick of the bowlers. Mitchell Marsh also took two wickets, while Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav took one each.
