The clash between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals turned out to be a great thriller as CSK veterans MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja almost took away the game from the visitors. The Royals, however, fought back and won the match by the barest of margins of three runs.

With 21 runs needed to win in the final over, Dhoni hammered 14 off it but fell three runs short of victory. After finally winning the match, Sanju Samson shared his feelings on the victory and made waves for his use of the 'that man' remark for the iconic Indian skipper. Dhoni batted at no. 8 for CSK on Wednesday and scored 32 runs in 17 balls, including three sixes and a four.

“Full credit to the boys in this type of ground with so much dew, it was excellent. Everyone was involved and everyone wanted to win. We want to go back with happy memories from here. We really wanted to go with a win. The ball was stopping a bit. We wanted to get Zampa in as Impact Player. In the end, I wanted to extend the game but it still went to the last over,” Samson said during the post-match presentations show after the win.

Meanwhile, on being asked to speak on having the victory in their bag, Samson said ”Never, you can't feel that way till the time that guy is in the middle. I do a lot of planning, research and sit down with the data team. A lot of thoughts are going around. Nothing works on Dhoni, though”.

Dhoni made his 200th appearance in the premier T20 competition as captain of the Chennai Super Kings. However, it was a former CSK player who stole the show at Chepauk on Wednesday, making significant contributions in both innings. R Ashwin got the Player of the Match award after scoring 30 runs in 22 balls and bowling 2/25.
