Rishabh Pant the India wicketkeeper batter met with a horrific near-fatal car crash on 30 December 2022. The accident happened when the left-hander was driving back from Delhi to Roorkee in the early hours of Friday.

AIMS Rishikesh, where Pant is receiving treatment at present for his injuries. The Doctors at the hospital have put out a rough estimate for his recovery. As told by the Hospital to the Times of India, it can take Pant 3-6 months to recover from the ligament tear. If the tear is more severe then it can take a lot more time. This will be Testing times for Indian Cricket as the left-handed batter has been the most consistent in Test Cricket for India with his impact performances. His last innings was a game-changing 93 against Bangladesh.

The accident happened because Pant fell asleep and lost control of the car while driving. After the vehicle came into contact with the divider and crashed, it turned into a ball of fire. As per reports, Pant was rescued. He suffered grievous injuries but was out of danger after he met with an accident.

Rishabh Pant will undergo MRI scans -Indian Cricket Board

The Indian Cricket Board on Friday, stated "Pant has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh's condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment, as per the Indian Cricket Board statement shared with the media."

The Indian Cricket Board also stated that they will do everything possible to help and attend to the former India India U19 player in this disturbing phase. Jay Shah, the board secretary, had spoken to his family after the accident occurred and when Pant was undergoing treatment. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also spoken to Pant’s family members.
