Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and actor-wife Anushka Sharma visited the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh and offered prayers. The former India captain, who is currently part of the Indian team for the series against Australia, joined the Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal. The celebrity couple also prayed for their welfare by worshipping Baba Mahakal. The visit comes ahead of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and an out-of-form Kohli needs divine intervention to rule the cricket field again in the longer format.

Virat and Anushka visited Baba Mahakal on Saturday morning, a day after India lost the indoor Test by 9 wickets. Another video of the duo sitting inside the temple, along with other devotees has also gone viral on social media. Virat and Anushka were seen sitting together in a corner of the Mahakaleshwar temple with a priest sitting beside them.

“We came here to offer prayers and had a good ‘darshan’ at Mahakaleshwar temple,” Anushka told reporters.

Earlier this year, the two visited Rishikesh and Vrindavan along with their daughter Vamika. While in Vrindavan, the family visited Baba Neem Karoli's Ashram, in Rishikesh, they visited the Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj's samadhi at Swami Dayanand Ashram.

Talking about the ongoing BGT series, Australia beat India by nine wickets at the Holkar stadium on Friday. The Australian bowlers completely destroyed India, especially Nathan Lyon, who took 8 wickets in the second innings, only to set the Aussies a mere target of 76 runs in the final innings. After being bowled out for 109 runs in the first innings, India could only score 163 runs in the second innings.

India were expected to whitewash the four-match Test series after winning the first two matches. However, the recent defeat has made India's qualification scenario for the World Test Championship final a bit complicated. Rohit Sharma and Co must win the Ahmedabad Test, otherwise, they will have to rely on Sri Lanka vs New Zealand series to make it to the finals of the marquee event.
