Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah won the ‘Player of the Series’ as the last and third T20I game against Ireland got washed out and the Men in Blue lifted the trophy with a winning margin of 2-0. The third and last 20-over fixture in Dublin was washed out without a single delivery bolwed. Bumrah was awarded the Player of the Series award for his brilliant bowling and leadership in the fixtures. 

Speaking of the second T20I, Indian Premier League (IPL) prodigy Rinku Singh shined for Team India in his debut series, he was awarded Player of the Match for his 38 (21) in the second T20I, whereas the Jasprit Bumrah-led side won the game by 33 runs and now has an invincible lead of 2-0. At the start of play, Ireland skipper Paul Stirling won the toss and opted to field first. The visitors posted 185/5 in 20 overs.

Now, putting the picture of the Indian innings together, India lost the early wicket in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 18 (11) in the fourth over. Ruturaj Gaikwad held the innings; he came as an opener and batted till the 16th over of the game, scoring 58 (43) and also remaining the highest scorer of the innings.

Gaikwad was accompanied by Sanju Samson with his 40 (26). In the later overs, Rinku and Shivam Dube’s 22 of 16 balls took India to over 180 in 20 overs, whereas the first T20I was also rain-affected as India won the game with the DLS method by two runs. In the opening game, the Paul Stirling-led side batted first and scored 139/7 in 20 overs, while the Indian side started well but lost back-to-back wickets in the sixth over.

Eventually, the rain poured down and stopped the play in the second innings, resulting in the game washing away when the Indian innings was on 47/2 in 6.5 overs. India won with a very narrow bargain, thanks to DLS menthod. Indian skipper won the Player of the Match award in the first game for his 2/24 in four overs. Interestingly, it was his comeback as he was coming back from the injury after almost 11 months in International cricket.
