The Indian T20 League is returning to its 'old style' in many ways, one of which will be a grand opening ceremony. Ahead of the 2023 tournament opener between Gujarat and Chennai, Bollywood stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna along with singer Arijit Singh will add gilts and glamour to the cash-rich league at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31.

Tamannaah and  Rashmika had their final rehearsals on Thursday, March 30, ahead of the grand show on Friday at 6 pm, where they will set the stage on fire with sizzling performances. Meanwhile, the actresses were asked to name their favourite cricketers of the tournament and interestingly, both stars named Chennai captain MS Dhoni and former Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli as their favourites.

“Movies and cricket are really close to us, kind of what we have been bought up with. Dhoni is everyone's favourite and I am no different, Virat also,” Tamannaah said.

While Rashmika said, “Generally when I watch a cricket match my emotions are too up and down and I only like to check out the scores. Dhoni sir and Virat sir are my favourites of course.”

They also spoke about performing at the ITL opening ceremony. Tamannaah said that she enjoys performing on stage and is looking forward to sharing moments with Rashmika and Arjit.

“Performing on stage is something that I have enjoyed from the start of my career. In addition to that, performing for IPL, which has been through so much after COVID-19 is really very exhilarating. I will be performing with Arijit (Singh) and Rashmika (Mandhana) and I am really looking forward to it,” Tamannaah said on Thursday.

Rashmika, who has never been to an ITL match before, was also excited about performing. "I always wanted to witness an IPL match but never got the opportunity. Today I am going to be performing before an IPL match – so I am like ‘I made it’,” she said.
