Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings were at the bottom of the points table last season. But, it looks like one team has learned their lesson, and unfortunately, it isn’t the team in blue as they suffered their second embarrassing loss of the 16th edition of IPL against CSK by 7 wickets on Sunday, April 8.

MI's big-name batters aren’t pulling their weight. The top-order was outdone with some simple left-arm orthodox spin of CSK. Meanwhile, MI skipper Rohit Sharma talked about their batting collapse in the post-match presentation and said the senior players need to step up and he also included himself in it. He urged the team's batters to try different things.

“The senior guys need to step up, starting with me. We know the nature of IPL. We need to get some momentum, and if you don’t it is going to be tough. We need to try different things, need to attack, need to be brave. We have a couple of guys who are young in the IPL. Got to give some time to them. It will take time, but we need to back them up and show enough trust in their ability." Rohit said after the match.

However, he also reminded his fans that they have lost just two games and will bounce back again. He also admitted that they were at least 40 runs short of what would have been a competitive score against CSK.

“Just two games, not all is lost, but the senior guys need to step up with the bat. If you win, you can win on the trot. If you lose, it will hamper the momentum. We wanted to do a lot of things right. We lost our way in the middle. We did not capitalise on the start. It was a good pitch, we were 30-40 runs short in the middle. Credit to their spinners, they bowled well, kept us under pressure and we did not respond well," he said.
