Ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023 mini-auction, AB de Villiers has arrived in India to hold talks with the Bangalore franchise over his role in the next edition of the tournament. Earlier, the South African had confirmed that he will be part of the team for the 2023 edition in some capacity. However, his role in the team hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, pictures of AB de Villiers enjoying his tea at a local tea stall have been doing the rounds on social media. The South African cricketer could be seen sitting at the steps of the local shop in Maharashtra. AB de Villiers looked at complete ease as he was enjoying his cup of tea.

Recently, a video of AB de Villiers making a return to the Chinnaswamy Stadium also went viral on social media. The South African cricketer last visited the stadium in 2021. Notably, he announced his retirement from all forms of the game in November last year. Mr. 360 wasn’t part of the Bangalore franchise that played the 2022 edition.

However, he, recently, revealed that he will be associated with the Bangalore franchise in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League.

"I will go to Chinnaswamy Stadium next year. But not for playing cricket. I am going to apologize to the RCB fans for not winning the IPL title so far. I also want to thank them for their support over the past decade. I can't play cricket anymore. Because I had surgery on my right eye.”

Ab de Villiers was one of the most prolific run-scorers in the history of the Indian T20 League. He is currently the second-highest run-getter for the Bangalore franchise, having amassed 4522 runs in 157 matches at an average of 41.10.

Overall, he has 5162 runs to his name in 184 matches at an average of 39.71 and a strike rate of 151.69.
