Former legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni displayed his brutal power in Chennai's second match of the Indian T20 League 2023 against Delhi on Tuesday, April 4. The fans witnessed a vintage Dhoni performance as he smashed Lucknow's speedster Mark Wood for two back-to-back sixes in the final over of the first innings.

Interestingly, Dhoni is out of action since the 15th season of the cash-rich league, and watching him performing like this is so surprising as he is still able to send a 150 KPH delivery to the stands. Dhoni also reached the 5000-run mark in Indian T20 League with those two sixes.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has now heaped praise on Dhoni and said that no other player is able to score 5000 runs at that number. "The expectation is that the top-order batters will score the most runs. MS Dhoni comes in the middle order or lower-middle order and he has scored 5000 runs. No player might be able to score so many runs while playing at that number. He is consistent, scores run and wins matches for his team. He is a very big player," Sehwag said.

I don't think he goes after milestones: Virender Sehwag

However, he also mentioned that Dhoni won't be thinking about the milestones while batting as the important thing is to win the match first and that's what he did. The former right-hander also opined that he was also like that when he used to play. He said that the numbers are only remembered when u get retired.

"If you ask MS Dhoni, he will ask what difference it makes, whether he has scored 5000, 3000 or 7000 runs, the important thing is to win the trophy, which he has done. I don't think he goes after or thinks about milestones. I was also like that. Who knows how many runs have been scored but it is true that these numbers are remembered later. When you retire, it is remembered that this player scored so many runs in the Indian T20 League."
