Australia have had a 20-20 World Cup campaign to forget as they crashed out of the multilateral tournament after England beat New Zealand. The Kangaroos suffered a big 89- run defeat in the opening game which gave their net run rate a beating and from there it was difficult for them to make a comeback.

After the debacle at the 20-20 World Cup Australia skipper, Aaron Finch has given a big statement that he would not be retiring from T20Is following their exit from the World cup and failing in their title defence. Finch went on to say that he will take a call on his T20I future only after the upcoming Big Bash League season. He will play for the Melbourne Renegades this season. This was the call taken by the Australia T20I skipper.

Here is his statement, "No, I'm not going to retire. Not just yet. I'll play Big Bash and see where we sit after that, but I'm still enjoying playing cricket, playing T20," Finch told Seven. "There's not another international T20 until August, so there's quite a long break. Still, plenty of time to be able to weigh all that up. It's been a pretty good ride regardless of what happens," said Aaron Finch.

It all depends on Finch's body- Andrew McDonald

Australian coach Anderew McDonald said that the upcoming Big Bash season could decide the future of Finch in the shortest format. He said that "I think the Big Bash will probably determine his future - how he goes there, his performances, how his body is holding up. His body has failed him here in terms of a hamstring strain that put him out of the World Cup...the next game is not until August next year so that gives him a lot of time to repair if he is willing to go on.”

Finch had battled a tough phase of form that led him to call it quits from ODI cricket. He had a 20-20 World Cup to forget on home soil where he scored 107 runs in the three games that he took part in. He could not play Australia’s last two fixtures as he was sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
