The 4-Test Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series that starts Thursday has seen a heated build-up. First, Australia denied playing a practice game and held a special training camp focusing on facing Ashwin's off-break deliveries. They flew in a 'duplicate' bowler, Maheesh Pithiya, to be a net bowler. The likes of Wasim Jaffer and Harbhajan Singh had added to the drama before Ravi Ashwin made a hilarious 'Boys only want one thing joke' on Twitter.

This time it's Cricket Australia's Twitter handle adding to the banter battle with a reminder video of India's horror show of 36 all-out at Adelaide in the last BGT series. Former India opener and popular commentator Aakash Chopra joined the party and reminded fans of the final score-line of the series.

Here's the tweet:

India is eyeing a third-straight series win against Australia

Notably, India has won the last two BGT series away from home. The upcoming series would be India's last chance to book a berth in the finals of the Global Test Championship. The Indians are, therefore, expected to give their best. On the other hand, the Australians will try to avoid a third-straight Test series defeat against India. Australia hasn't won a test series in India since 2015. They have only won two test series in India, in 1969 and 2004. Thus, they have yet to show their dominance on Indian soil.

In the last series, India went down in the opener after being bowled out for just 36 after taking a first-innings lead of 53. It ended in an 8-wicket defeat. The visitors quickly responded with an 8-wicket win in the second Test at Melbourne, followed by a hard-fought draw at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

In the final Test at the Gabba, India bounced back after conceding the first innings lead to pull off a stunning chase on the fifth day. It was the first time Australia had lost a Test match in Brisbane in 32 years as India chased down a target of 328 to clinch the series 2-1. Notably, Ajinkya Rahane captained the side for the final 3 Tests, with Virat Kohli out on paternity leave for his daughter's birth.
