It will be a mini-auction, so it will be a question of sides which are more or less settled, filling the holes. The other end of the spectrum is franchisees that have retained the maximum of their core and have the lowest amount of purses going into the auction.

They are Rajasthan, Bangalore and Kolkata. Rajasthan has a purse of just 13.2 crores, when it comes to Bangalore, they have a purse of INR 8.75 crore. In Kolkata’s case, they have a purse of INR 7.05 crore. The Indian T20 League auction this year will have 405 players who will go under the hammer.

Here is a message that Chopra gave to these three teams, "RCB, RR and KKR don't have to do much shopping. They will just do a bit of window shopping and even if they wish to buy someone, they can't because they just don't have the budget." He said in his YouTube channel. Rajasthan could look for some players. But in Bangalore and Kolkata’s case they have a very small amount left.

Other teams will probably splurge huge sums while filling bigger holes, but I feel all-rounders are going to have a field day in the auction." He went on to say that the big names such as Ben Stokes, Cameron Green and Sam Curran who are expected to command high prices at the auction and also get the franchises into a bidding war.

Last Year’s auction was held at Bangalore, the auction was supposed to be conducted by Hugh Edmeades, but he had a bad fall in the middle of the auction which led to renowned sports presenter Charu Sharma who did the bidding on behalf of Edmeades and was lauded by everybody on how he conducted proceedings and ensured the auction went on.
