'Aag aisi lagai ki mazza aa gaaya' - Fans react as RR players prefer playing under MS Dhoni rather than playing under Virat Kohli

A group of Rajasthan Royals were asked in a poll whether they would have likes playing under MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli in IPL.

The Rajasthan Royals have done well in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League so far. They have five wins and four losses in nine games and have 10 points till now. RR has been good with the team combinations and has had a season to remember so far. They were finalists in 2022 against Gujarat Giants but sadly could not win what would have been their second IPL title.

Meanwhile, in an interesting poll, the Jaipur-base team players were asked whether the players from RR would like to play under Virat Kohli or under MS Dhoni. The trio of Joe Root, Devdutt Padikkal, and Dhruv Jurel picked Dhoni over Kohli. When it comes to the IPL, the two greats of Indian cricket have had contrasting journeys in the tournament. While Kohli has not managed to get his hands on a single IPL trophy. Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings to four IPL titles.

RCB has made it to three finals in the IPL. They have been there in 2009, 2011, and 2016. CSK on the other hand have won their last IPL title in 2021. When it comes to the atmosphere at CSK, the management and owners of CSK are not in charge of running the side and all the operations are handled by MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming. CSK likes to keep a family-type atmosphere and make the players feel less pressured.

When it comes to RCB, it feels that there is more management interference in the team. The Bold Army though under the leadership of Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar have propelled RCB to the playoffs in the last three seasons. RCB has also made it to the most number of finals after CSK and Mumbai Indians. Players like Ajinkya Rahane who are primarily test match mold are finding a second coming in T20 cricket thanks to MS Dhoni.

Such examples would have made the trio from RR vote in favor of MS Dhoni rather than Kohli. When it comes to leading in the IPL, it is all about man-management and MS Dhoni seems to have aced over the years in comparison to Kohli who is no longer the skipper of RCB.
