Pakistan cricket team is set to get Indian visas for the 2023 ODI World Cup which is set to play in October-November this year. The Apex Council reportedly looking to stage the tournament between October 5 and November 19. During this phase, a total of 48 games, with 45 being league games and the rest being knockouts. A total of 10 teams will play in the tournament and eight out of them have already been decided.

On the other hand, it is reported that the venues are pretty much decided for the tournament. Ahmedabad aside, the shortlist comprises Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai. The reason the Indian Cricket Board hasn't finalized its venues is the monsoon receding at different points in India. Also, the tax issues haven't been resolved which is mandatory for a hosting member to clear before the tournament.

Last year the apex council was informed by the Indian tax authorities that it would be charged a 20% tax order (excluding surcharges) for its broadcast revenue from the World Cup.

Pakistan will visit India after 2016

The last time the Men In Green arrived in India for 2016 20-20 World Cup. In the tournament, the team finished in the Super 10 stages, losing three out of four games. In a game against India in Kolkata, the Men In Blue won comfortably. Since then, the Asian side has never been to their neighboring country, India.

Meanwhile, they have assured the permission in midst of their scuffle with the Indian board over the Men's Asia Cup 2023. Apparently, Pakistan, who is the host of the tournament, is insisting India visit Pakistan to play in the tournament. On the other hand, India board secretary and Asian Cricket Council president Jay Shah has cited non-permission from the Indian government for not visiting Pakistan.

In the last few months, both boards have had a dispute over the matter. It will be interesting to see what decision will be made in this regard.
